3M is proud to announce that Alice Quinn, Senior Manufacturing Technology Engineer, has been awarded the Highly Commended recognition in the STEM Ambassador of the Year category at the prestigious Engineering & Manufacturing Awards 2024. The event, held on 4th September in London, highlighted several outstanding achievements across the UK industry.
The awards ceremony, attended by over 300 industry professionals, was a celebration of innovation and excellence. It recognised many achievements, from low-carbon innovations and productivity-enhancing manufacturing breakthroughs to the inspiring contributions of individuals championing STEM initiatives.
3M was shortlisted for multiple categories, including the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award, Digital Innovation, the Manufacturing Productivity Improvement Award, the Rising Star of the Year Award, and the STEM Ambassador of the Year Award, which Alice Quinn won.
Held at the elegant Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, the event brought together firms from across the UK’s manufacturing landscape, from major OEMs to dynamic SMEs, all noted for their contributions to industry growth and innovation.
After receiving her award, Alice Quinn said: “I am thrilled to be awarded Highly Commended for STEM Ambassador of the Year at the Engineering & Manufacturing Awards. I’m also honoured to have been nominated for Rising Star of the Year. I’m truly grateful to work with a team that supports and encourages my growth in STEM.
Collecting Alice’s award on her behalf from comedian and host Dominic Holland, were fellow shortlisted 3Mers, Alexander Carnell, Senior Engineer, and Brendon Allen, Advanced Digital Control Engineer. Alexander was shortlisted for Manufacturing Productivity Improvement, and Brendon for Digital Innovation.
Separately to Alice’s success, 3M Senior Technical Leader and North Europe STEM Champion, Sarah Chapman, had the honour of serving on the wider panel of judges, reviewing other external shortlisted entries for the event.
